What will you do?

A job with more freedom than that of a mail carrier? There isn't one. As a mail carrier on a scooter, you work independently and decide for yourself each day what your working hours are. From a birthday card to an important letter, you deliver it all for PostNL in an area you know inside out.

This is what your workday as a mail carrier on a scooter looks like:

  • You start by picking up the mail at the depot near you. The mail is ready, and all you have to do is put it in your bags: everything has already been neatly sorted by street and house number. What time you pick up the mail is up to you, as long as it is before 15:00.
  • You then do your route on a PostNL scooter, at the times that suit you best. As long as all the mail is in the letterboxes by 18:00 at the latest.

Another great thing about being a mail carrier: You work independently, but never feel alone. You quickly become a familiar face in the neighborhood and build nice contacts with residents and colleagues. And because you are active, you improve your fitness without even noticing!

What do you bring?

Anyone aged 16 or over can become a mail carrier. You are aware that you are the face of PostNL. You therefore work accurately and take a customer-focused approach. In addition:

  • You have a valid (scooter) driving licence.
  • You are available for at least 7 months.
  • You are fit enough to ride a scooter for a few hours and lift mail bags weighing up to 23 kilos.
  • You speak Dutch or English well. This is so you can communicate with your colleagues and supervisor.
  • You have a smartphone to use during your work.
  • You are flexible about covering different neighborhoods. After all, you will not always have a fixed route.
  • If you start working with us, you will need a Verklaring Omtrent het Gedrag (VOG). Of course, we will reimburse you for it.

What do we offer you?

We offer you a varied job that you can fully fit around your personal life. You will receive a PostNL scooter that you can use for work. You will start with a 7-month contract, with the possibility of an extension. Would you like to work more or fewer hours than stated in this vacancy? We warmly invite you to apply too, and would be happy to discuss the possibilities with you.

Whatever you choose, you can count on:

  • In addition to your salary, you will receive 8% holiday allowance, paid monthly.
  • You will receive four weeks of holiday per year.
  • You will accrue a pension (from the age of 18).
  • By mutual agreement, you can work more hours, and your overtime will be paid or you can take it as time off.
  • You will receive compensation of up to € 26,20 per month for smartphone use, expenses incurred and bicycle maintenance (depending on the number of hours you work).
  • Depending on PostNL's business results, you may receive an annual performance-related payment of up to 3% of your annual salary.

And furthermore:

  • You can take online training courses via our digital learning environment.
  • You will receive discounts on (health) insurance, holidays, outings and fun products.
